Surprise happenings in December

We have tried to make it an annual thing (this being the 2nd year) of doing a Gingerbread house with the girls. They each picked out one to do...a Hello Kitty Cake and a train. The girls enjoyed every minute of it and I didn't really help this year (except for assembling it). They got to put all the candies/decor on...and I didn't care how it turned out. I think they did a pretty good job!!

Then one weekend we had nothing going on, we packed up the girls and headed into Peoria to just spend quality time with each other. The plan was to eat dinner at Avanti's, then walk around Bass Pro Shop and then drive through the East Peoria Festival of Lights. Then Jason said something...

"Wait a Minute!! 

Isn't Disney on Ice in town at the Civic Center...right now?"

"I think you're right", I replied. So we quickly changed our plans after eating supper and decided to surprise the girls and take them to Disney on Ice. They REALLY wanted to know where we were going and what we were going to do, but we kept our lips sealed until we got to our seats and the curtain opened up. (Before the show we got to enjoy a local high schools gingerbread house creations that were on display. They were amazing!).

Lets just say - this momma was pretty much emotional the whole night through - tears were streaming down my face and lumps welled up in my throat. They WERE SOOO EXCITED and SQUEALED with delight. They were sooo excited, amazed, etc. I LOVED surprising them and seeing the joy in their faces. Here are a few pictures from the evening...
